Anwar was educated at Edinburgh University, Scotland where he read Mathematics (with Business Studies) and completed his BSc (Honours) degree in 2007. Following a two-year programme in law at The City Law School in London, UK, Anwar was called to the English Bar at Gray’s Inn in November 2009 and to the Bar in Saint Lucia in July 2010. Between 2010 and 2012, Anwar managed a newly formed Rectifications Department at the Saint Lucia Registry of Civil Status; he then served as the Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court Registry from 2012, until he transitioned to private practice in 2015. Anwar’s practice at McNamara & Co is generally in the civil area, with special interest in securities, banking, insurance, corporate and succession law.
