Stephen McNamara

Stephen McNamara was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, and in St Lucia in 1972. The Barrister/Solicitor specialises in the representation of foreign investors in St Lucia in Tourism, Manufacturing and Banking sectors. He served as Chairman of the St Lucia Tourist Board for nine years and continues to serve as Director on a number of regional boards including Sagicor Life Inc. and RBTT Bank Caribbean Ltd. Stephen Mc Namara’s St Lucia-based service includes the Board of St Lucia Electricity Services Ltd, and as President of the St Lucia Tennis Association.

Trevor L. Cozier

Trevor Cozier has been with McNamara & Co since the chambers were established.  He was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1974 and then in St Lucia later that same year.  He primarily practices Civil Law with a special emphasis on Company Law and Commercial Law.  His expertise includes Joint Venture Agreements, Bank Security, Shareholder, Lease and Conveyance Agreements.  Trevor Cozier is former Chairman of the Development Control Authority and continues to serve on several local boards.

Anthony McNamara, Q.C

Anthony McNamara qualified as a Barrister of Law in the United Kingdom in 1976.  He was called to both the U.K. and St Lucia Bar later that year.  His areas of expertise are Criminal Law, Tort, Contract, Labour, Divorce and Insurance Law.  He has served as a magistrate in the St Lucia Courts and represents the Employers Federation on the Government Task Force for the creation of a St Lucia Labour Code.  Anthony McNamara became Queen’s Counsel in 2002.

Kimberley Roheman

Kimberley qualified as a Barrister-at-Law in the United Kingdom in 1991 having attained an LLB (Hons) and was called to the Bar in the United Kingdom in 1993 and in St. Lucia on 23rd June 1993. Kimberley’s selected options at the Bar were Commercial Law and the Law of International Trade. Her work experience in the United Kingdom prior to qualifying as a Barrister was in a managerial capacity (approx. 7 years) for leading Company Formation and Intellectual Property Agents. On returning to St. Lucia in 1993 Kimberley took up employment as Deputy Registrar of the High Court where she served for 2 years and then as the First Magistrate of the Family Court which was established in 1996 where she served for a period of 1 ½ years. She joined the Firm of McNamara & Co as an Associate in August 1998 and was appointed a Partner in 2009. Kimberley engages mainly in Civil and Commercial Litigation. Her brief also includes Family Matters, Conveyancing, Wills Probate and Administration, Intellectual Property, Commercial and Company Matters. Kimberley has served on the Disciplinary Committee of the St. Lucia Bar Association from 2006 to currently and as Chairperson of the Police Complaints Commission since July 2015.

C.A. Bota McNamara

Bota holds an Honours Law degree from the University of Western England and was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in November, 2002 and was subsequently called to the Bar in St. Lucia in December, 2003. At present he is engaged in Civil and Commercial Law and handles a large portions of the Firm’s High Court Civil portfolio with particular reference to banking and insurance matters. Bota leads the Firm’s practice in insolvency and receiverships having had conduct of several receiverships and liquidations including hotels, commercial developments and residential developments. At present Bota is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Chairman of Insurance Appeals Tribunal and has been a Short Term Consultant to the World Bank.

Deale Lee

Deale was called to the bar in October 1999 after having attended the University of the West Indies and Hugh Wooding Law School. He has also obtained an LLM from the Queen Mary University of London with a concentration in Banking and Finance Law and is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Canada. Deale has a wide range of civil litigation experience prosecuting and defending complex commercial, administrative and constitutional matters. He has also advised on bond issues and high value commercial loans. His areas of practice include, litigation, public law, financial regulation and compliance, and insurance.

Jonathan C. McNamara

Jonathan holds an Honours Law degree from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and completed the legal Practitioners Course for the purposes of becoming an English Solicitor in June of 2002. Between June 2002 and September 2004 he was engaged in a training contract with the London firm of H. Montlake and Company where he gained experience and training in all aspects of the law and in particular Residential Property, Commercial Property, Probate Law, Intellectual Property and Employment Law. Having completed the training contract Jonathan was admitted to the Solicitors Roll of England and Wales on 1st to the bar in St. Lucia in February, 2005. Jonathan brings a new dimension to the firm in that whereas all the other lawyers at McNamara & Company (and indeed over 99% of the lawyers in St. Lucia) have been trained as Barristers he has qualified as an English Solicitor. Because the profession in St. Lucia is fused he will practice as a Solicitor, Barrister and Notary Royal. His current portfolio at McNamara & Co. also includes overseeing some of the High Court legal action commenced by the firms banking clients, including defending actions, seizure of property debt collection as well as conveyancing.

Zinaida C. McNamara

Zinaida obtained her Honours Law degree from the University of the West of England and was then called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. Zinaida C. McNamara was called to the Bar of St. Lucia on 5th October 2007 and works primarily with the firm’s Divorce and Banking matters. She also handles a number of Personal Injury matters for both Insurance companies and private individuals and deals with conveyancing.

Anwar Brice

Anwar Jean-Pierre Brice was most recently the Deputy Registrar at the Supreme Court Registry, having previously been the first occupant of the post of Adjudicator at the Registry of Civil Status. He was educated at Edinburgh University, Scotland where he read Mathematics (with Business Studies) and completed his BSc (Honours) degree in 2007. Following a two year programme in law at The City Law School in London, UK, Anwar was called to the English Bar at Gray’s Inn in November 2009. He was subsequently called to the Bar in Saint Lucia in July 2010. His practice at the firm is generally in the civil area, with special interest in banking, insurance, corporate and succession law.
